Recovering from his injuries with a reliance on morphine Tommy, accompanied by Arthur and John, visits the Petrovnas at their London home, where, in their underground vault Tommy's new ally Alfie Solomon values the jewels with which they plan to pay Tommy though John learns that they have more sinister plans for the Shelbys. Returning to Birmingham Tommy recruits a team of tunnellers to help him steal the jewels and informs Polly, now having an affair with Ruben, that Michael knows Father Hughes of old and is prepared to kill him. Polly is not pleased at the news.

Did You Know?
David Bowie was a huge fan of Peaky Blinders. Bowie loved the show so much that he sent the production team a picture of himself wearing a razor blade-peaked flat cap. According to the Telegraph, the singer's "people" also made it clear to creator Steven Knight that he would love to feature on the soundtrack. At the scene where we see Tommy Shelby recovering from the injuries he sustained at the end of the last episode, we can listen to "Lazarus" by David Bowie whose song scored Tommy's woozy morphine-fuelled recovery. It is 1922. In the beginning of the episode we see the beaten up Tom Shelby lying in a HALO vest. This is a device to stabilize the neck, usually for fractures, and the first use of it was not described until 1959. A few scenes later he is sitting on the bedside without the HALO vest but with a fresh scalp wound. Although not specifically stated it would be reasonable to assume that the skull operation took place on the same day as the admission to hospital and that the HALO vest was applied directly thereafter. A HALO vest is usually worn from 6 weeks to three months and certainly never for just a few days. See more
