The lines said by some of the heroes are references to what happened to the creators of Arrow
"I started this alone, and had every intention of keeping it that way", a nod to the producers who had no intention whatsoever for Arrow to have spin-offs.

"Then things just got stranger", the producers never wanted for superpowers to be a part of their universe, but it started making references to them starting with Barry Allen's appearance in Arrow: The Scientist
"But the truth is, sometimes we're not enough, sometimes, the world needs a team", a line spoken by Barry/The Flash, referencing The Flash: Flash vs. Arrow
