Storyline

Excluded from Stevie's wake by her family, who consider taking the law into their own hands, River comes under criticism for the death of the suspect Riley and is physically attacked by Riley's pregnant girlfriend Tia although Chrissie Read tells River that Stevie got into Riley's car. However Tia's information leads to the fact that Riley may not have been in the car with Stevie and soon Riley has become another of River's 'manifestations', declaring his innocence and exhorting River to find the real killer. Goofs

When Ira is showing the two CC photos to River, saying he's found two photos from the exact same date and time (October 21st, 9:03), showing Riley in two different places, the second photo clearly shows it's taken on October 12th, not 21st. See more »

The Pain Gets Greater
31 August 2016 | by HitchcocSee all my reviews

River is filled with angst. His dead partner (whom he speaks with, though he's the only one who sees her) is going to be buried. He is also visited by the specter of the man he chased, thinking he was a guilty man. Of course, the man never stopped, but, rather, chose to jump to his death. Naturally, River is constantly under scrutiny because he is seen talking to no one. In this episode he begins to uncover evidence about his partner's death and what led to it. Of course, he can't really ask her questions because she isn't really there but is a manifestation of his brain. River is the product of Stellan Starsgaard' s amazing portrayal. He never doubts his abilities but is a loner and an enigma to the world. I was reminded a bit of the Wallander character in the Swedish series. Several things have gone unanswered and I look forward to Episode 3.
