Bat Masterson's cane shatters when he hits a cowboy over the head with it. The cane is described as hickory. Hickory is a straight grained wood. And very strong. And while it can break. As seen in the past when baseball bats could be seen to break. But in this dramatization the cane doesn't just break it shatters. This is probably because the cane is made of balsa wood. See more »
