Trivia

Almost every detail about Rembrandts paining The Nightwatch or De Nachtwacht told by Croome in the Rijksmuseum are accurate. Parts of the paining were cut off in the 16th century, because it did not fit into the room of the buyer.

The title of the episode, "Obligate Mutualisms" is described by Crooms as a concept by the founder of BPO, Dr. Ruth El-Sadaawi. He says that she "believed sapians and sensorium to be obligate mutualisms, dependent on one another for their survival." Sapians, as described in this show, are the regular human beings, the sensoriums are people like the sensates, ones that can sense others like them.
