As seen on the official trailer, Hotel Artemis 10 rules are: 1. While on the premises, no fighting with or killing other patients. 2. No disrespectful words or actions allowed against Hotel Artemis staff. 3. No guns or any type of weapon permitted through the gates. 4. Membership must be paid for, full and in advance. 5. Prior but lapsed members will not be admitted 6. No photography or video allowed. 7. No outside food or drink. 8. Absolutely no visitors. 9. If member is found to have compromised, or led to compromise of location, membership will be revoked. 10. Hotel Artemis rules are final and non-negotiable.
The hotel is named for the Greek goddess Artemis, who was born in secret to protect her from the wrath of Hera, queen of the gods. Artemis was associated with animals, hunting and the moon and was the twin sister of Apollo, the god of sunlight.
To promote the film, Global Road Entertainment released a set of character posters, each featuring an homage to a famous literary or film reference from Los Angeles, such as Sterling K. Brown merged into the book cover for Raymond Chandler's novel The Long Goodbye and Charlie Day merged into the film poster for American Gigolo.
The Hotel Artemis has four patient rooms: Niagara, Honolulu, Acapulco, and Nice. Patients assigned to these rooms are only referred to by that room's name. Sterling K. Brown's character is called "Waikiki" because he shares the Honolulu room with his brother.
Sterling Brown, Dave Bautista, Kenneth Choi, Evan Jones, and Jeffrey Goldblum all appear in Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. Brown appeared in "The Black Panther". Bautista appeared in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Avengers Infinity War", Choi appeared in "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming", Jones in "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2", and Goldblum appeared in in "Thor Ragnarok". In addition, Jenny Slate appeared in Venom (2018), which is also adapted from Marvel comics. Brian Henry also stars in Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, which is also part of the MCU.

At the end, The Nurse refers Waikiki to a "dark room" in Las Vegas. Dark room is a longstanding underworld term for an emergency room or similar medical facility where criminals can go without the police finding out. The Hotel Artemis is a dark room.
