Cherry Bang: Melanie, do the moves.
Melanie Rosen: Those are my moves, kid. I mean, they're the moves that got me cast in the porn dance party in Body Double.
Ruth Wilder: Please, as if you worked with De Palma.
Melanie Rosen: I did. So...
[Melrose charges at Ruth, causing her to back up and hit the top turnbuckle with her arm]
Ruth Wilder: Ow!
Cherry Bang: Strindberg, you okay?
Ruth Wilder: I'm fine. I'm fine.
Cherry Bang: [approaches Melrose] What the fuck was that?
Melanie Rosen: I took her by surprise. You know, to win. 'Cause that's the whole point of the whole thing.

Trash talk and homewreckers

Evidently, the focus will be on the rivalry between Ruth (Alison Brie) and Debbie (Betty Gilpin), which makes for great conflict. Also moved into a more prominent role is Cherry (Sydelle Noel) as the fitness trainer. And then there's Marc Maron, master agitator, putting everyone at each there's throats. So lovably hateful.

It doesn't have the nudity or action of the pilot and feels like strict setup, but that groundwork alone holds promise. And Maron continues to steal the show.
