Trivia

The concrete bowstring bridge shown is the Wiley Bridge in Brampton, Ontario, over the Credit River. The bowstring bridge was a distinctive feature in southern Ontario in the first half of the 20th century, although surviving examples are now rare. The Wiley Bridge dates from 1924. It has been closed to vehicular traffic for some years, however it remains open to non-motorized traffic on this section of Gorewood Drive which is a hiking trail in the Claireville Conservation Area. Goofs

At about 21:38 in the episode we see an office building. In the next scene we see Abe Leonard working at his desk. The implication is course he is working in this building. While the building pictured is actually press related, it is about 6.700km from Capitol Hill. It is the building of the: "Bundespressekonferenz" (German Federal Press Conference) in Berlin (Germany), as indicated by the yellow public transport, the yellow letter box, license tags, street signs and last but not least the large Sign: "Bundespressekonferenz" on the right side of building. I know this is fiction, but...

This series is fun. It has the same addictive quality as 24. (Must be Keifer Sutherland). The whole conspiracy plot is fun too, especially when Agent Wells is on the screen. But even fiction has to have enough reality in it to be believable. This episode would have us believe that the Republicans would block the confirmation of a Supreme Court nominee because of the candidate's perceived liberal bias. Though this seems like a very plausible idea, the simple historical fact is that the Republicans have never done this. The Democrats did it successfully with Bork, and attempted it with Thomas and Kavanaugh, all because of a perceived conservative bias. Apparently the writers disapproved of playing partisan politics when it comes to the Supreme Court, but do they have so little acquantance with the real politics of Washington D.C. that they commit gaffs like that? Republicans have done some bad things and they have some characteristic flaws. Holding the judicial appointment process hostage doesn't happen to be one of them.
