This episode opens with Professor T giving a lecture to his students. He is discussing whether the urge to kill is genetic; illustrating it with a recent case... A woman went to the police telling then that her husband had been sent a death threat. It emerges that they had recently sued the neighbours on one side and the new neighbours on the other side are the wife and son of a man jailed for murder thanks to the testimony of the threatened man. When he is inevitably murdered these people are all possible suspects; in particular the son. The class is asked if he, as the son of a murderer, is more likely to be the killer. Away from the case Annelies investigates whether or not her father had registered his desire to die if his condition got as severe as it clearly has.
The way this story was told, with the students being asked to offer theories on the case, was interesting and effective. It meant that details emerged throughout the episode despite the fact that we'd been told at the case had been solved and was being used to illustrate a point. There are a good number of suspects to keep the viewer guessing. The subplot involving Annelies and her father were genuinely emotional leading to a tear-jerking conclusion to the episode; Ella Leyers was great in these scenes. If there is one down point to this episode it was the complete lack of Mrs Sneyers! Overall another enjoyable case from Professor T.
