Storyline

Having refused to use the short time window for experimental Parkinson surgery which might restore his medical career, Cole Guthrie reports as hospital chaplain. He can't help enough to prevent Elliot doubting his vocation having lost a baby in pressure chamber, but seeks solace with a terminal cleric. A slum mother brought in after a fire, initially with only one of her twin babies, refuses violently to bond with her healthy son after her daughter doesn't survive surgery. Teenager Jared is blamed for the fire by the janitor, along with his non-supportive workaholic absent father, but the fire chief concludes otherwise. Then a dreamer awakes from his ER nightmare. Quotes

Emmanuel: You're human. And humans want answers. The answers you need don't come with photographic evidence. They require that you believe in something you can't see. After all, that's why we call it faith, isn't it? Otherwise we'd call it proof.

For people wondering about whether or not this episode is as good as everyone says it is, I'm here to say: it really is. Everyone should watch this show. It's great storytelling, great acting, and great music. I'll forever be impacted by the song that played at the ending. I'll have to look to see what it was, but I know that I absolutely love it!
