Storyline

Jack and Rebecca, who are celebrating another anniversary, have decided not to exchange gifts this year, unlike the grand gesture Jack always does, which means something big, and the very personal gift Rebecca always gets Jack. They get around this decision when the kids decide to make that grand gesture on their parents' behalf for their anniversary. But a grand gesture in the mind of a ten year old, as well as the execution of such, may be a totally different beast than that of an adult. In present day, Toby and Kate are having their respective bachelor and bachelorette parties concurrently in Las Vegas. The bride and groom and the other members of the Pearson family have their own expectation and/or baggage going into the event. Although he has invited a handful of so-called friends, Toby, in light of his own family situation, hopes it will be a "Pearson brothers" bonding session, he being the latest entry into that club. Beyond the fact that Madison is organizing her get together,... Written by Huggo

Trivia

There are three references to Julia Roberts. Her line "You're a thief and a liar", from Ocean's Eleven (2001), is quoted by adult Kate in the scene where Toby chooses his suit. Later, young Kate tells her mother she should dress like Julia Roberts on the Pretty Woman (1990) video box cover. Toby then tells Kevin to call Ron Howard and tell him he made a pretty woman size mistake. See more »

Goofs

Kate and Randall discuss binge watching "Sex in the City" after their father died, so they had to be at least 17 years old, but during the flashback we see their 10 year old versions. "Sex in the City" started on 1998 which further confirms that Kate and Randall had to be at least 17. See more »

Feel-Good, Fun Episode Without Death and Tears. YAY!
2 March 2018 | by beckymundySee all my reviews

This was such a welcome and refreshing episode for me (Definitely top 5!) Cute, happy flashbacks that were touchingly sweet and almost provoked happy tears. Flash forward and the present-day characters laughed and had fun! It was also great seeing them interact with people outside of the circle. The music was even more upbeat. This show wouldn't have been able to sustain itself being depressing and make people cry every week, and I am so glad to see that the writers can craft a wonderfully entertaining episode like this. Don't get me wrong, the realness and sap were still there, but weren't forced and overwhelming. I look forward to more episodes like this!
