2019 Emmys predictions slugfest: Best Drama Writing odds favor ‘Killing Eve,’ but are ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ spoilers? [Watch]

It’s not surprising that our combined Emmy odds currently peg “Killing Eve’s” “Nice and Neat” as the front-runner for Best Drama Writing. The second season of the BBC America show just nabbed a significant total of nine nominations. I recently joined Gold Derby editors Riley Chow and Zach Laws to discuss whether we agree with the odds or have one of the other nominees in our top spots (watch the video slugfest above).

“There is only one ‘Game of Thrones’ nominee in writing,” Laws stresses as he explains his decision to predict “Thrones’” series finale “The Iron Throne” as the most likely winner. Since this episode doesn’t have to worry about splitting the vote with another submission from the show, it would be the sole recipient of “Throne’s” massive overall support – it nabbed a record-breaking 32 nominations. First look of Sai Dharam Tej's 'Intelligent' released

Tollywood Directed by V V Vinayak, 'Intelligent' will have Lavanya Tripathi as the female lead. Digital NativeThe first look poster of Sai Dharam Tej’s upcoming film Intelligent was released recently and had created a sense of expectation. The film, directed by Vv Vinayak, has Sai Dharam Tej playing the lead role with Lavanya Tripathi as his female lead. Intelligent is slated for release on February 9th and the film’s hero is banking on it to revive his sagging career in the Telugu film industry. Will V V Vinayak do the magic for this youngster? Well, we need to wait and see if this works wonders for the star’s career. Intelligent is bankrolled by Ck Kalyan under his banner Ck Entertainments and has Brahmanandham and Posani Murali Krishna in pivotal roles. With three consecutive box office failures, Sai Dharam Tej is hoping that Intelligent will revive his career and the makers are confident about it. According to sources close to the film unit, the filmmakers opine that Vv Vinayak has handled the film so well and it is sure to turn out to be a box office success. Interestingly, the director had the opportunity to direct the mega star of Tollywood and Sai Dharam Tej’s Uncle in Kaidhi No 150, which was his comeback venture after nearly a decade. The film went on to do well at the box office and the magic is expected to rub off Sai Dharam Tej’s Intelligent. It may be mentioned here that bitten by the acting bug, Sai Dharam Tej entered Tollywood as hero with Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam and had acted in film such as Subramanyam For Sale, Rey, Supreme, Thikka etc. His last three films, Winner, Nakshatram and Jawan did not fare well at the box office forcing the actor to take stock of the situation and come up with a hit. Will Vv Vinayak be able to revive Sai Dharam’s career? Well, let’s wait and watch.
