Elizabeth de Burgh is depicted as English, in reality she was of mixed Native Irish and Anglo-Norman ancestry and was born and raised in Ulster. In 1315 (eight years after Loudon Hill) Robert would lead an, ultimately unsuccessful, invasion of Ireland aimed at freeing the country from English rule. Throughout the film Bruce is referred to as Your Majesty. The correct form of address for a Scottish monarch (and indeed an English monarch) was Your Grace. The title changed to Your Majesty after the Acts of Union in 1707 (during Henry VIII's reign in England). See more »

This was a real enjoyable movie! A lot better than I expected seeing some of the previous reviews, just shows you should watch & see yourself! The filming locations were beautiful & the actors were believable, good job all around! I have to say Netflix did really good on this occasion!
