Quotes

Gene Cousineau: Are you on drugs, Barry? Because getting clean is an important part of an actor's journey. A little story to illustrate: I was doing Long Day's Journey into Night at the Pasadena Playhouse with a bunch of coke heads. It's usually about a three-hour play. We could bring it in at just under thirty-seven minutes. We thought we were great! Apparently, we were unintelligible. It was the beginning of the bad years, Barry.

Another episode about great acting where the acting of the cast is just as great.
24 April 2019 | by CallMeTheDoctorSee all my reviews

This episode's had the biggest payoff so far, honestly, for a show as meta on acting as Barry is, you get massively invested in the situation of the main character. Bill Hader delivers one of the most powerful performances of a show that just won't stop repeating how important it is to throw the entirety of your will at something you're passionate about, and Bill Hader's Barry is his own passion to throw himself at.
