More wheel spinning

Warning: Spoilers
Season 2 started off solid but between last episode and this I feel no further ahead in the story. It gives minute details while having long winded dialogue about how even black gods are oppressed. The small witty banter in between is refreshing and seeing Mad Sweeney and Dead Wife back at it was great which is why it wasn't rated less. But spending a fair amount of time between two episodes to include some identity politics BS is just a waste when it seems so much more could be given to actually moving the story along.

'Lost' it's way a bit

Season two hasn't really set a great pace or story arc. It feels like season 2 of lost. No one seems to know what's going on or where their going. Slow and not very accessible. Would hate to see this kill the programme.

When is something going to happen?

Warning: Spoilers
Like others have said this season has mostly been wheel spinning and filler and this was no exception. Season 1 ended with Easter causing a famine and the gods officially declaring war yet none of this seems to really matter in season 2. Can season 3 just be a road trip starring Sweeney and Laura? Those two are the only ones I still care about

What's going on with season two. This is American god's there's a clue in the title and I'm not really seeing much god action. make a spin off with mad Sweeney and Laura now that would be more exciting.

A Historical Change of Vision
abbadon0323 April 2019
When season 2 opened up I was very hopeful that we'd get a continuation of the story without the virtue signaling that Bryan Fuller is known for, and first I was not disappointed. Then came episodes 4 & 5 and the "White Men are horrible oppressors" schtick was back...again. Whenever shows fall into the social justice politics I check out. Get woke, go broke I say. It's not like this show can afford to lose too many viewers with the way Fuller blew the budget in season one. Human history is often the story of one group conquering another, and it has often been the case that the people with the darker skin were doing the conquering. Every group in the world has been conquered and enslaved at some point in their history. Get over it. I'd like to think that American Gods will right the ship and find a way back to good storytelling and not fallback on identity politics to carry the show, but the show's history is against them on that count.
