Storyline

The dramatic story of "Abu Farouq", an Iraqi insurgent who joined ISIS (Daesh) as an intelligence agent and defected after ISIS blew up his home and threatened to kill him and his family. In a probing interview conducted by Iraqi journalist Ali Mula, Abu Farouq reveals why he joined ISIS, what he did for his ISIS commanders, and how he became disillusioned with the Islamic State's brutality and hypocrisy. After switching sides to help the Iraqi government liberate Mosul, Abu Farouq explains how he currently uses his insider knowledge of ISIS operations to recruit and train Iraqi militiamen.
