Contestants are on a 30 foot high platform, where they are dropped through a trap door if they answer a question incorrectly. You can see Contestants through a glass panel as they start to drop, but they are then hidden behind a colored tube for the rest of their decent. The truth is that they land into a foam pit shortly below the view of the glass panel and a shadow is projected on the colored tube to make it appear as though it is a much longer drop than it actually is, about 10 feet. You'll notice they say the contestants fall from a 30 foot platform, which is true but are then careful to not say they fall 30 feet. See more »
