Sylvia Tilly: What are you doing here?
Paul Stamets: Well, that depends. Are you attempting to capture an asteroid, Ensign Tilly?
Sylvia Tilly: Uh, just a little piece. If my theory's correct, we'll be able to interact with dark matter, sir.
Paul Stamets: Well, I'm offended I wasn't invited to the party.
Sylvia Tilly: Oh, my - oh my, God, you're so invited.

A promising beginning
18 January 2019 | by brandony-25051See all my reviews

As a first episode to the new season, "Brother" really set the hooks in for me. The episode was action-packed, with no lack of mystery nor humorous moments. The development of both new and recurring characters in the series, piqued my interest. In my opinion, the introduction of Captain Pike to the Discovery crew was done well. There were even a few Easter eggs for fans of the original series. I can see how the visuals and story-telling style may be off putting to die-hard Trek fans, as it employs more of an Abrams style of cinematography, but I feel optimistic about how they are handling the new direction. After watching "Brother", I can't wait to see what Season 2 of Discovery has to offer.
