Hattie and her brother Ray grew up as missionary kids in Africa before moving back to America to attend college. While at college, Hattie meets Drake and marries him after graduation. Her brother Ray starts an MRI / CAT-Scan company with Drake where the two form a successful recipe of Drake handling sales and Ray runs the day to day operations / administration. All is well until Ray decides to go to India as a missionary which deeply upsets Drake as he knows he cannot run the business successfully by himself. Drake and Hattie's marriage is strained as Drake buckles under the pressure of work as well as the usual tensions that matrimony can bring. As Hattie plans a going away party for Ray, Drake decides to take matters into his own hands.Written by
Filmmakers shot at the director's brother-in-law's actual MRI company near Anaheim, CA. The MRI machine featured is on "life-support" which meant the filmmakers had to shoot in a very noisy environment. Inspired by the scene in "Days of Heaven" when Richard Gere gets fired from the foundry, the director told the actors to use the environment to yell their lines and add tension to the scene.
