Funnier than I thought, and surprisingly emotional.

I have an on/off relationship with Adam Sandler-movies. Some I think are really good (mostly his less outlandish roles) and some I just can't stand.

This live show - which is a collection of clips from different sets - was basically all over the place. There are some stuff that is just "too much", there are other things that were pretty funny, and there are a few bits, songs mainly, that just had me roaring with laughter (the 'Keys Wallet Phone' rap, for instance, was brilliant!).

And then at the end, for contrast following a funny but infantile song about two astronauts blowing each other, there suddenly was this unbelievable five minute long, beautiful tribute song to the late Chris Farley... It was like a slap in the face! A slap with a bag full of onions. He follows that with a tribute to his wife (that gets mentioned a lot during the show, and not always in a flattering way) and to his fans.

All in all, I'd say Sandler hit this one almost out of the park, and since I rarely expect this level of entertainment and heart from him, I'd say that's pretty awesome!

Definately recommended, EVEN for those who say they don't like Sandler!
