This ripoff merely begs the question: Who had made crummier porn parodies, Braun or Ryder?
I would nominate Cash Markman for that booby prize given that he made so many unfunny spoofs a decade before these two "award-winning" hacks got started.
This Wicked release is a series of idiotic skits and mediocre XXX filler with Braun and Ryder endlessly plugging their other films and boasting about their meaningless industry awards. Seth Gamble as Wade Wilson is trying to get laid while filming the first parody Deadpool video - never mind that Ralph Long beat Wicked to the punch 3 years earlier. Perhaps Tommy Gunn could have pointed that out to Braun as he appears in both movies.
Film has little to do with its superhero subject matter, instead mocking moviemaking cliches ranging from breaking the Fourth Wall to using a fluffer on set. Recalling the early stag films of nearly a century ago, many of the players, including Gamble and contract star Jessica Drake are able to escape embarrassment by never showing their mugs, completely hidden under the hooded Deadpool costumes.
Braun's in-joking extends to a hidden plug for his next Wicked feature: lovely Avi Love cameos uncredited as Mrs. Valerie Hyde in a bar scene ahead of starring for Axel in that role in The Possession of Mrs. Hyde. Also at the bar are Aiden Ashley and my favorite unsung Adult actress Lucky Starr.
This is issued as a high-priced 2-DVD set but reeks of low-budget (crummy sets, minimal action or FX) and the second disk only has 10 promos, pretending to be a Bonus: random scenes from other recent Wicked videos as cross-marketing.
