Ginger Lynn and a stellar cast at their best
I don't have a lot to add to what has already been said. I can only say that this one does it for me. Add Stacy Donovan to the mix and you can always count me in! This is a must watch.
One of the best adult films I have seen
I agree with the other reviewers that this movie could have set a high bar for adult movies. That didn't happen, but it is remarkable because it is both artistic and extremely exciting. I am not into the kinky stuff, but that's why god created fast forward (satire). Brigitte Maier has so much of the "girl next door" quality that she burns bright in the sex scenes. She reminds me of a woman I knew in the 1970s with long hair, pretty face, extraordinary body, etc. I thought the ending was bizarre when I first watched it, but maybe it is saying that the old Brigitte is gone and the woman in her is set free. I could be wrong. Anyway...enjoy!
The Naked Detective (1996)
Best of Softcore
I love it when producers and directors use actors from the adult movie industry in their projects. This movie includes Julie Parton and Taylor St Claire. They were very sexy in this movie and it is easy to download clips of their x rated performances.
The sexy blonde nurse is dynamite and you might be surprised to find out who she is. I could not find this movie on DVD but downloaded it from a porn website. There are no x rated moments in The Naked Detective but it is funny and sexy. That is enough for me.
This old combat veteran is grateful to all who were part of this project. You blazed a trail which is followed today by my favorite TV shows on HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc. I salute you!
Sex Workers Deserve Respect
I very much enjoyed this documentary. Sex workers are both glamorized and despised in our society. The enduring value of this film is the personal perspective of the women who work in adult movies. Some of the stories are very sad but others are a celebration of the human spirit and sexuality.
I thought the agent who was interviewed was shallow in her judgment of the path these women have chosen. She seemed unable to grasp the fact that being filmed naked does not destroy a person. She is in the wrong business.
I understood that most of these women want to move on and that this is a difficult business for many. The fact that some adult production companies are now owned and operated by women means that there is less opportunity for men to exploit and abuse these sex workers. The next step is to legalize prostitution and have strong labor unions for all sex workers so it is easier to move on. But that would require a sane, reasonable and caring society. I don't see much of that in the USA today.
The Pig Keeper's Daughter (1972)
I liked it very much
This is a light comedy with fairly explicit nude scenes, one of my favorite formats. Most porn is unfeeling and mechanical. This shows kissing, undressing, fondling and everything but the cigar. The actors are attractive (the ladies) and seem to react as actual human beings might under certain circumstances.
Whatever it says about me, I love this movie. Could not find it in the major movie retailers for a reasonable price. I bought it from a private source you can find on google.
Enjoy if this is your cup of tea. If not, don't judge me. Just move on to something important in life.
The Man from Earth (2007)
A movie for people who can think critically
Anyone (with an open mind) who has studied history, science and religion will be intrigued by this movie. I had already covered some of this territory before encountering this film, but was glad someone thought it was worth presenting in this format.
I hope that people can see the wisdom embedded in this discussion among friends (aside from the 14,000 year life span of the protagonist). You could call some of the characters "stereotypes" but I see them as specific types of people I have known in my own experience.
The discussion is intelligent, the reactions are realistic and the unintended subtext is explored with a sense of understanding and compassion. I call this a great movie. Watch it and see what you think.
