The Secret (2006)
At the beginning of this movie, one person says that we know, "like, attracts like." One person mentions magnets as a paradigm. The other man says it's a law of attraction. But we all know that with magnets, we are given the universal belief that it's opposites that attract. So, right away, I was a skeptic. And whenever I see pyramids in a film like this, I'm even more skeptical.
You'll have to watch this to see if it "attracts" you.
Steve Jobs (2015)
One of the WORST films I've seen!
I can't believe the same screenwriter wrote "The Social Network." This Film was terrible. They could have just given him a mic and let him repeat, "She's not my daughter," a thousand times. There was little depth to this movie. Such a complicated, inventive man, and such a shallow movie. Tsk tsk tsk.
All I can say is...
...that Peter Saunders must have been watching a different movie. I don't agree with him at all. I enjoyed this movie to the fullest. Though the ending was a bit predictable, the acting, sets (incredible), and story were wonderful. The costume designer should win an award...As well as the set designer. Don't let his review keep you from seeing this film. Watch it, enjoy it, and see for yourself if you like it. Seven bucks well spent. If you like period pieces, go see it. The sets alone are worth the trip. And the lead actress was both beautiful and played her role very well. Maybe there weren't enough explosions or CGI to make Peter happy...
The Beginning or the End (1947)
Got me very interested in the creation of the bomb.
I remember certain scenes from this movie, which I saw only once, on television when I was a child. I've watched many documentaries and movies on the subject since, and have read several books on the development of the A-Bomb, because I saw this movie when I was young. It was absorbing for me. I do remember the scene where one of the bomb assemblers drops some of the radioactive material and is overcome from the radiation. This scene was repeated in the movie "Fat Man and Little Boy." I have been looking for this film for years on television, with no success. I would think that Turner Classic Movies would play it if it were around.
Someone, find this film! Oh, so interesting a movie.
