Leverage: The Three Strikes Job (2010)
Very good except...
I like this episode. Kinda fun, good story, moves along well. The only thing I don't like, sorry is Richard Kind. This is all IMO. I find him annoying, hate the way he talks, etc. He reminds me of a relative you don't want to acknowledge.
Invasion U.S.A. (1985)
I really like this movie. It is a good movie. Action, script, cast, etc. I like it a lot. There are a few things that I have a problem with: 1. Matt is a retired via agent yet he lives in the swamp with no electricity. 2. However he uses a chain saw to cut wood. 3. How come no one sees the invasion happening? 4. I know it is at night but no one sees anything 5. Every once in awhile I like a bad guy in a film. Richard Lynch was a great actor. He played the bad guy very well. Good overall.
Another 48 Hrs. (1990)
I thought this going to better. I was wrong. The story was odd, rambled on. Where did that guy in prison come from? He was not mentioned in the first film. How come Reggie owes him $75,000? It needed a re-write.
Adventures of Superman (1952)
I like this series. I prefer the color episodes. The first season was good. However, do not take this wrong way Phyllis was a little too butch in her portrayal. I expected her to chew tobacco and spit. The episodes were good overall. I did have a problem with George at times. He sort of smug. He would say lines in a way that was annoying and glib. Then he started wearing a pinky ring. Should have been straightforward.
Line of Duty (2012)
Very close to perfect.
This is a very good series. The cast is good and interesting. Sometimes it seems that the people in charge are slightly slow. I guess they want to stretch out the story. IMO Thandie is ok as an actress and cute, not beautiful. Sorry. A- series.
This review has spoilers. I used to watch this series all the time. There were a lot of great episodes. This is the worst one, IMO. It is stupid. The only thing I liked was the car. However, for the car to be some unique tracking system is unbelievable. I could have written a better script.
Malcolm X (1992)
Excellent film except for one thing...
I remember when Malcolm got killed. It was sad and jarring. This film does a good job in giving an in-depth, accurate portrayal. It moves along at a good pace. The only minus was when several black characters in the film say the white man is the genesis of all their problems. My grandparents and other came to America from Europe. They were poor, didn't know English, etc. . THEY DID NOT OWN ANY SLAVES! I am tired of hearing that excuse/opinion. Turn the page!
The 27th Day (1957)
Great, forgotten classic.
I saw this on tv a long ago. I like it as soon as I watched it. It is a very intriguing film. It makes you think what would happen if this happened in reality. I watch it when it is on tv. It doesn't seem dated. To me it is still relevant.
Christmas Rush (2002)
Good, fulfilling film.
I saw this once on t.v. . Liked it immediately. I like the whole film. Erika is very pretty. I do have a problem with Morgan repeating some of his lines too much. The action is good. Story is good also. It is nice to see Eric Roberts play a flawed, repentent guy.
The Unknown (1946)
I love the ILAM radio series. The movies are fairly good. However, this one relies to much on the supernatural and voiceover at the beginning of the film. I like detective movies. This one falls short. Also, I disagree with Mr. Morse to not put Reggie back in the cast. It leaves a hole that is annoying.
Bird Box (2018)
Strange, odd movie.
I didn't watch this movie. I did watch the trailer. That was enough. The scenery was nice. That is what the star is for. However, this movie wants you to believe the unbelievable. How in the world is a person supposed to be flee blindfolded? What stops a person from walking off a cliff, waterfall? Stop getting bit by a snake or attacked by an animal. Should have not been made....
The First Power (1990)
Goes good then.....
I watched this because I like Lou. Very good actor. The movie keeps going along fairly well. The cast is very good. Action is spot on. However the last 20 minutes It goes downhill really quick. I hate the ending. Ruined a good movie.
Dark Alibi (1946)
Nice Chan film.
I like this film. It has a good script, excellent cast, nice pace. I have always preferred the Toler Chans. They are more three dimensional, have a laid back attitude, etc. They are nicely paced. The addition of Best and Moreland is the cherry on top. I wish they were in more of the films.
Dead Men Tell (1941)
Pretty good movie
I watched this several times. It is a good installment. It keeps you guessing. The cast is well rounded. The one negative is George Reeves. I have seen in various roles. He was o.k. but he appears to be smug in a lot of them. You can see the flip dialog in the Superman series. He does o.k. .
Good except for...
This is a good episode. It keeps you involved. The story is engaging. All the principals are good. The scene where Hawk talks to a security guard is funny. Too bad Avery Brooks doesn't do more comedy. He is funny. The only problem I have is with Paul Guilfoyle. I have never liked him. He is over the top in every role. It gets annoying.
Tail Gunner Joe (1977)
A warning to everyone....
This is all IMO. Here is a film that shows what happens when an egomaniacal person gets power. I watched this film a long time ago. It shows how a person can fabricate his own life to suit himself. This senator somehow got positions he didn't deserve or should have been in in the first place. People backed him blindly which gave him power to destroy people, their families, lives, occupations, careers. He should have been stopped a long time before he ripped apart lives.
Daddy Day Care (2003)
Funny movie except for 2 things.
I really like this movie. It is funny from beginning to end. The story is really good and the performers are funny. However, except for 2 performers. IMO Jeff Carlin and Kevin Nealon are not funny. I have seen them several times. They don't make me laugh. Oh well.
Spenser Confidential (2020)
You have got to be kidding.....
I watched 30 seconds of this movie. That was enough. I knew Mr. Parker. I read the Spenser books. Did anyone associated with this project read them? He is not an ex con or ex cop. He was a state trooper. He is a private detective who used to box as an amateur. To me the perfect interpretation was the tv series with Robert Urich and Avery Brooks. I will not watch this because it will make me cringe.
The Brain That Wouldn't Die (1962)
You have to be kidding?!
I know strange title. Sorry. This is a bizarre film. I have no idea how or why it got made. Strange film. I watched it once. It was painful. Even AIP pictures were watchable. I guess if you know people you can get a picture made.
Up and Vanished (2019)
I watched this series. I really don't like it. I find the host annoying. He is rude to everyone. He reminds me of a kid poking a hornet's nest with a stick.
Fairly good movie.
I like this movie. It is fairly good. The performers are all good. I do have some problems. Sex on top of a fire truck? Really? Also, Robert DeNiro's character glorifying fire with his demonstration. Also, I know a lot of firemen. They never stylized their actions like using a hose or washing their helmets, etc.
Great trup except...
This episode and the other two are great episodes. They keep you involved, you get to see some nostalgia and the story evolves at a nice pace. The only downside is the secondary plot with Flack. It takes away from the storyline.
The Glass Key (1935)
I love classic Hollywood films. People should watch more of these films. You get to see real talent. I am impressed by Mr. Raft. He was an excellent actor. This version is great. Edward Arnold is great in his role. A must have for your collection.
Men in Black (1997)
Fairly good movie.
I like this movie To a certain extent. It is o.k. The story line is good, It is slightly humorous. I do have slight problem. To me Will Smith is always smug in his movies. He is good but not great. Also, does anybody really believe a person would give up everything and everyone to join an organization? What if he has a family, etc. ? Also, you wear exactly what they give you, eat, live, etc. where they tell you. Seriously?!
Air Rage (2001)
I really like this film. Way more than Executive Decision. I believe you can do more with less. I think this well done overall. I have a few problems. Alex Cord plays such a hard nose general I am surprised he didn't break from being so stiff. Also, how did they gun/parts through the X-Ray machine. I wish the commandos got on the plane quicker.
