The Crow (1994)
Rip both father and son
Brandon Lee reminds me of Heath Ledger as Joker and I think Lee would also be perfect Joker. Movie has dark vibe, mostly because it's always night and raining. It is such a shame that he died on set but at least his last film is unforgettable and he will always be remembered.
The Place Beyond the Pines (2012)
I thought it was great heist movie...
First act was really cool and interesting and I wish the whole movie continued that way but we got boring and typical police story in second act. Third act was better than second and it had fine ending. Ryan Gosling is really choosing great projects.
The Little Mermaid (1989)
Ariel has red hair people not black
Another Disney classic with probably bad live action remake incoming. Animation is so good for late 80's.
The Magnificent Seven (1960)
Butchered version of Seven Samurai
I would say this was a successful copy of Seven Samurai but they cut off so much battle scenes. Dialogue is very good and all the characters are cool but this western has very little action. Eli Wallach makes another great villain in his career.
End of Watch (2012)
Great mix up of comedy, drama and action
Loved the way it was filmed, Gyllenhaal and Pena are great together. I expected that ending but they still surprised me. You should check this unique buddy cop movie.
That Thing You Do! (1996)
The Wonders are rockin
This band has very good and catchy song, it would be so cool if they existed for real. Cool movie about fame and I had a lot of fun. Check it out with your family.
Uncle Buck (1989)
We miss you
Very enjoyable family movie with a lof of laughs. John Candy is charming and funny as always and this time Kevin wasn't Home Alone.
Both, show ending and movie ending, are great in its own ways
After watching this I can say this is much better and more satisfying than original ending. It gives us the missing piece and the meaning of whole groundbreaking show. Animation is amazing through whole show and movie. It questions our existence and our style of living. If you watched the show you need to watch this movie then. I found both endings very good but I think I needed this ending much more than the other one.
Shin Seiki Evangerion (1995)
It gets into your mind and you can't stop thinking about it
I still have mixed feelings about last 2 episodes but overall I think it is awesome anime with mature philosophical questions. Animation looks so good and colors are perfectly used. I still need to watch the End of Evangelion and I can't wait to see it.
The Florida Project (2017)
You can follow Baker on Letterboxd
My first Sean Baker movie and I wasn't disappointed. Colors in this movie are so fresh and beautiful. When the kids were playing it felt like it was real and not just the young brilliant actors doing their job. This movie felt free and safe like it was some fictional world and not the real life situation. Willem Dafoe was great once again and he is really going for that Oscar nominations. I still found his face scary af.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Amazing way to end this phase in MCU
Another fine light-hearted Spider-Man movie with some amazing CGI and acting. Jake Gyllenhaal is great like always and that glasses fits him perfectly. I think next Spider-Man will be little darker and more like the Batman trilogy. Post ending scene was so good, I was on the edge of my seat.
Music is so good and camera shots are incredible
It's kinda weird but I expected nothing less from PTA. He is the Tarkovsky and Bergman of our time.
Chasing Amy (1997)
Very unique style
I watched my first Kevin Smith movie (Clerks) a week ago and I absolutely loved it so I decided to watch his filmography. Chasing Amy is his third film and it has that same spirit and storytelling as Clerks. Acting is great and even Matt Damon makes a cameo. It's a strange and comedic in a some way look at gay relationships but it is not necessarily the true one. I love how all early Kevin Smith's movies are connected in one universe.
Toy Story 4 (2019)
If this is the end that it was my pleasure and thank you Pixar
Just when you thought that Toy Story had perfect ending they make the new Toy Story with even more perfect ending. Another adventure but this time with new characters leading the way and some old ones coming back. Villain was scary and great but it had lighter future than the Bear in Toy Story 3. Maybe not my favorite Toy Story movie but still really great one and I'm glad it wasn't made only to earn money. My biggest problem was that I watched it dubbed in Croatian and most of the jokes had no sense and just fell flat.
The Goonies (1985)
My childhood in one film
Great kids movie and it is a shame that movies like this aren't made anymore. Great journey with a lot of fun and with some adult messages.
The Full Monty (1997)
They are going full monty!!!
One of the funniest movies I have seen in a while. Great cast and amazing humor. Two leads are like Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.
James Stewart is so charismatic. Movie is so enjoyable and funny and also a little criticism of mental institutions. Donnie Darko got some material here.
It was on Imdb's top 250!? How??
Matthew Broderick was fine but I wanted it to be told from Morgan Freeman's or Denzel's point of view. And I hated that Broderick's beard so much.
You must love Hitchcock
I don't know why I gave 9 first time. Poster is incredible. Effects are incredible for that time and Jimmy Stewart is always amazing. This belongs in top 3 Hitchcocks movies.
Thank you Kevin Smith for this amazing movie
I love this low budget simple film. They are full of amazing dialogue without any special effects. It is just talk, talk and talk and more talk, you have a feeling like they aren't actors at all. Just another day in their lives. I had a feeling they existed before film and that they will exist after the movie, like they are eternal and real.
Ace in the Hole (1951)
His son would say "Greed is good".
Another Billy Wilder's masterpiece in which he cleverly criticized the media. Like father, like son Kirk Douglas is greedy journalist that wants all the fame and success to himself without moral questioning at all. The movie itself is very easy going and I loved the way it was shot. It show the very real human nature and everything he says in the movie is true. In my opinion it is one of the smartest movies ever.
A Grand Day Out (1989)
Small step for a man, one giant leap for movie industry
I'm always happy when I find an easter egg in movie and this time it was Rosebud in their basement. I find other Wallace and Gromit movies better but this one was also cool. Loved "the moon is made of cheese" fact ;).
Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993)
Amazing tracking shots and acting
Perfect movie for rainy Sunday. Woody Allen's version of Rear Window is like his usual movies ( main characters questioning their relationships and marriage) but this time the plot is catching a murderer and finding out the truth. Loved the scene in which Anjelica Huston is teaching Allen how to play poker. Camera movement was super interesting, very different style from his previous movie Husbands and Wives. If you watched Murder Mystery and you weren't satisfied then watch Manhattan Murder Mystery for some quality murder mystery.
Godzilla fans will love it, others probably won't
Cgi looks unexpectedly good but decisions made by lead characters are really poor. It has very cheesy parts and most of them are very dull. We got some monster fights which saved the movie but other than that it was mostly boring. I don't really see how King Kong could beat Godzilla but I guess they need more money to milk.
Husbands and Wives (1992)
Smart writer Woody is
Woody Allen really knows how to write good male and female characters.
