Give him a chance..... It is on channel Dave.
When I saw this first been advertised it didn't really appeal to me that much, but one night when I couldn't find anything to watch I gave it a chance and really enjoyed it.
When it comes to comedy everyone has got there own sense of humor so I can see why it's got somewhat mixed reviews, but it is on channel Dave and from my opinion it's one of the best channels and rarley they show anything bad.
Dave Gorman: Modern Life Is Goodish is a show that points out the faults in modern life's society and makes quite valid obscure statements and at times he has gone to some extreme measures just to prove his point which ends up been just as true as it is hysterical.
Hope they do a sequel
Can't believe Gothams finished, really enjoyed the whole series and seeing the development of major characters.
The reason why I've given this episode a 9 and not a 10 is because I thought parts were a bit rushed such as the ending. I expected to see a bit more of batman and seeing him fight. Also I thought it was a bit frustrating that we didn't see Bruce and thought it was a bit daft that the moment he returned he started been batman and some how didn't raise suspicion amongst the police or criminals.
One of the best series I've seen in a long time.
When people ask me what shows am I whatching and I tell them Legion, not many people have heard of it which I find quite amusing because it's one of the best series I've seen in a long time.
It is loosely based on the X-men franchise, but unless your a fan of the comics you wouldn't think so due to its psychedelic nature. Even if you can't keep up with the story it's just worth whatching for its quirky originality on the superhero genre and action scenes.
After many decades of series and films with superheroes and superpowers etc, you'd think that we would of seen everything by now but obviously we've not. It's got to be one of the best and most underated shows that on right now.
How High (2001)
Classic stoner film
12yrs after first whatching it, my friends and I still make reference's. There are so many funny parts throughout the film its hard to pick a favorite and from my opinion it belongs up there in the stoner movie hall of fame
with Pineapple express and Harold and Kumar get the munchies.
Legion: Chapter 25 (2019)
Was quite disappointing
With what's going on in this season I'm surprised they spent the majority of the episode with such an odd side story. If the last 5 minutes from the episode were removed you'd think it was a completely different show. I know Legion has its quirky moments and that's one of the reasons why I like this show so much, but this episode just seemed like a slot fill until the writers come up with a decent conclusion to with what's going on in the season so far.
The Boys (2019)
If super powers were real, this would be the world we'd live in.
The only thing I can think of from giving this show a 10/10 is the superhero costumes. I thought they were a bit too cheesey and over the top. I thought everything else was spot on and nice too see someone other than Marvel or DC do a great job in creating superheroes or in this case supervillians.
Don't make Jim hopper angry you won't like him when he's angry
All I could think when watching most of David Harbours part was, he's playing a big red Jim hopper from STRANGER THINGS. Don't get me wrong, I think it worked well. The rest of the film wasn't that great which was a shame because there was so much potential. There were parts that didn't quite make sense and had alot of plot holes plus the script was nothing special. I also got the impression there was a fair proportion of the film were the creators just assumed all the viewers know the comics well and didn't bother explaining Who, What, When and Why etc.
I would like to think the franchise knew were they went wrong and do right with a decent sequel if there is one.
Dark Phoenix (2019)
Not as bad as people say
I can't see Dark phoenix winning an award anytime soon, but I did enjoy it. I can see why some people didn't like it and I'm guessing one of the reasons is down to the first 15 minutes. It was a bit too much too fast with too many plot holes.
Some of the fights that should of been a straight forward easy victory were evenly matched (Storm vs guy with long hair) which were bit daft. Also I got the impression there were plenty of times in the film were as why didn't they just use a gun but yeah it is a film lol.
I think today people have too much of an expectation of a film even before its released and don't give the directors enough credit for trying something a bit different.
Mixture between Breaking bad and Skins
Nice to see other countries making good TV shows. When I saw the trailer I was a bit skeptical about whatching this because besides the US and UK, I can't really think of many other countries that have made TV shows that have been successful outside of their own country.
I pretty much binged the whole first series and hoping that there will be a second.
Good characters and good dialogue with a good few twists along the way.
Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019)
I enjoyed it
I was a kid when pokemon first hit the scene in the West and this film brought back some fun memories. Ryan Reynolds made the film what it was and I don't think I would of enjoyed it as much otherwise, yeah its a kids film but for some reason I got the impression in a way he played pikachu as if he was a PG deadpool minus the violence lol. The film does have a few goofs and a bit of bad acting now and again but it is a kids film so it is acceptable. When the credits start and you see and hear footage from the original game on the game boy, I thought that was a great touch. It just shows you how far and successful the franchise has become.
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
The one thing that game of thrones didn't steel from its viewers was its unpredictability, everything else was bit of a let down by my opinion. Like a lot of viewers I felt that this season has been by far its worse and what I find frustrating is that they missed a year, so i don't understand why it's not been at its same high standard if not better due to having more time to work on the show.
I think if they had swapped the order of the 2 main wars round so that the living fought the dead at the end of the season I feel that the end of series would of been more satisfying.
Family Guy: Girl, Internetted (2019)
Been a while since a really good episode and it was a Meg one
Family guy started off amazing, it was so random and funny. The last few seasons hasn't been all that great, it seems like the writers have taken a different approach and don't have that random original humor as well as they used too. Now family guy will only have a handful of good episodes per season with the others just tolerable. This one had me laughing out loud a few times and what surprised me more is that it was a Meg episode.
It's something different
Due to its unique name I had to give it a try. I don't think I've seen a film quite like it and not in a bad way. From start to Finnish I can honestly say I enjoyed it. The only thing I thought was a bit daft was that the big foot was somewhere within a 50 mile radius and the old man managed to find it quite easily. I don't want to give too much away, but I didn't expect to see a confrontation like the one that the old man and big foot had. It was surprisingly good and violent. As far as I'm aware this film doesn't have a certificate but me personally I would give it a 15 and that's because there is no sex or drug use in the film. I would advise parents not to let younger children watch it due to the big foot is quite scary to look at and there is a good few close ups of its face which is quite disturbing.
In a way it could happen.
This is one of my favorite comedies. I love the concept on the way that society has evolved or in another way devolved. Its set in the future with great technology, but at the same time its borderline apocalyptic due to the human population having ridiculously low IQ's and are more than incompetent of maintaining the planet.
Also the story is great, two people from the present with very average IQ's get cryogenically frozen and wake up in the future, only to realise that they're the smartest ones alive. One of them takes well advantage of the situation, whilst the other gets ordered by the president/former World wrestling champion(Terry Cruz) to save the world.
Cheesy but ahead of its time.
I like Jean-Claudes films and I'd say that this is probably one of his best ones. This film was made in the late 80's and he was the first Hollywood name to bring muay Thai to the big screen. Yeah it has its cheesy moments but remember it was made in the 80's.
The films about his brother getting badly beaten in a fight and throughout the film Jean-Claudes character is being trained by an old master so he can seek revenge.
Aquaman is badass!
Up until recently I've always perseived Aquaman as one of the more laughable superheroes as he has never really been portrayed all that well. Jason momoa's portrayal of Aquaman has revolutionised his character into something more modern and acceptable in today's pop culture and is doing a great job at.
From start to finish I can honestly say that I really enjoyed whatching it and was thinking throughout that this is probably one of the best DC movies. I would even say I put it up there with Christopher Nolans 'The Dark Knight'.
It's that bad it's actually funny
I must admit I turned it off after roughly 30 minutes. Although in that short period of time I must of spent the majority of it laughing so hard because everything in it is so bad e.g. the story, scenarios and acting etc. I can understand how some films are meant to be bad such as the sharknado franchise but this is a whole new level. I don't actually know whether it's meant to be a comedy or just one hell of a huge embarrassing mistake.
If your wondering why I've rated 5/10 even though i couldn't watch anymore of it. Yeah I admit at some points I was laughing hard but there's only so much you can watch till the novelty wares off and then your just stuck with a REALLY BAD film.
Different origin story but still enjoyed it.
I'm guessing the majority of bad reviews are from the comic book fans that were probably expecting something bit different.
Overall I thought it was a good film. I thought the CGI ON Venom wasn't 100% but his dark sense of humor did more than make up for it.
